KONE, Austria has been awarded its first order for KONE Alta™ elevators.
The 23-story UNIQA Tower in Vienna will be served by six KONE Alta™ units at 4.0 m/s, one KONE MiniSpace™ fireman's elevator at 2.5 m/s, and four KONE MonoSpace® specials at 1.6 and 1.0 m/s. UNIQA is an Austrian insurance company that was created by the merger of Österreichischen Bundesländer Versicherung and Austria Versicherung, and the UNIQA Tower will serve as the company's headquarters. The building was designed by Heinz Neumann of Vienna. Installation is scheduled to begin in May, 2003 with handover in the autumn of 2004.
