Stay on Corporate siteKONE and the international door systems supplier DORMA have signed an agreement to establish a strategic global alliance with the goal of accelerating the growth of both companies’ automatic building doors business.
KONE and DORMA have identified an opportunity to satisfy the growing international demand for a single-source capability in automatic building door supply and service. The two companies target significant advantages for both themselves and their customers through cooperation that exploits their complementary competencies and service portfolios.
“In DORMA, KONE has a high-grade technology partner capable of significantly strengthening the performance capability of KONE's Automatic Building Door division, particularly in the replacement and spare parts business. DORMA will be able to reach significantly more customers with an integral product and service package through collaboration with KONE’s global organization. In addition, the combination of the two companies’ resources offers an outstanding platform for the successful management of major projects such as airports”, Michel Chartron, Executive Vice President for KONE’s Automatic Building Door division, explains.
DORMA and KONE will launch their alliance in Germany and Finland as pilot markets. The cooperation will then be successively expanded into further markets. This cooperation will not result in any changes in the ownership of either company.
