KONE Corporation, press release, 6 February 2025
KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order to provide a suite of People Flow® solutions for TRIBECA, London's largest purpose-built life science campus in the heart of the Knowledge Quarter in King's Cross. Developed by Reef Group, the project seeks to promote new innovations and stimulate economic growth in the UK.
Comprising four buildings, TRIBECA features approximately 1 million square feet of high-quality workspace, state-of-the-art laboratories, residential, and retail, as well as green spaces and amenities. Its proximity to other leading science companies and institutions helps in creating a best-in-class environment for businesses to start, scale and stay.
"It's a privilege for us to be part of London's new hub for 'life and science'," says Nicolas Alchal, Executive Vice President of KONE Europe. "Innovation is a key driver of societal progress, and that's exactly what the Tribeca project is all about. We're excited to help create a seamless experience for people moving around the campus."
The development aims to meet high environmental standards, incorporating energy-efficient systems, green roofs, and sustainable materials. All of the buildings at TRIBECA will be delivered in accordance with the principles of the London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI).
KONE's order comprises 27 KONE MonoSpace® 700 DX machine room-less elevators and one KONE MonoSpace® 500 DX high-performance elevator with the handover due in Q3 of 2026.
The developer is Reef Estates Limited, and the main contractor is Ardmore. The architectural design was done by Perkins&Will.
KONE booked the order in Q3 2024.
