Stay on Corporate siteKONE has booked an order to provide all elevators for the old London Stock Exchange Building, which will be refurbished by Hammerson, the third largest U.K. property developer, with Bovis Lend Lease being the main contractor.
The elevators will be delivered by November 2007. The value of the order is approximately EUR 9 million.
The development project is for a prestigious commercial complex involving the complete refurbishment of the existing tower on Old Broad Street and a brand-new adjacent building on Threadneedle Street. This project follows the recent successful completion of the major Bishops Square project with the same developer. These orders further strengthen KONE's position as a leading player in the U.K., which is Europe's largest major projects market.
